So far, so good with this vacuum. It is heavier to push, but if I didn't use the lowest setting (which I think works better on this and all vacuums) it would be easier. I also read reviews where it said this vacuum was a lot of maintenance. True, you may have to empty it each time you use it, but I only vacuum once a week and it works fine and picks up the cat hair (I have 2 Bengals). I also have rinsed out the filter because the vacuum cleaner shuts off automatically if the thermostat becomes too hot, so you have to keep the filter clean. I did not find it took 2 days to dry, but just in case it were to shut off when I was having company, I purchased a second filter to use in emergencies. I also purchased 2 HEPA filters and 2 extra belts from the Eureka website, and when you register your vacuum you get a 20% discount on parts and free shipping after $40, not a bad deal. This Eureka vacuum has been getting dust out of my bedroom carpet for over a month.The dirt reservoir complete disassembles and is intended to be rinsed in the sink. The filter is also rinsable. This is awesome because the vacuum doesn't throw dust around since it's so easy to keep clean. I really like the retractable cord. It works surprisingly well and with previous vacuums I actually avoided using it because I hated winding the cord.
