Out of the box, the computer worked perfectly. Definitely a big upgrade from what I was using. I have to get used to all this power at my fingertips. It runs quietly and hasn't given me any problems so far. Kudos to CyberpowerPC for this computer. Coming from a long time Intel fan, the AMD FX 4100 surely impressed me. If you are looking for an upgrade from a tired, old computer, I recommend this one hands down.Pros 1. I was hoping to be able to get a nice base PC and upgrade it as I saw fit. The only issue is that the power supply is cheaply made along with the motherboard and graphics card. The GT 610 will make games playable, but if you want to play any of the more graphically intensive games, a GPU upgrade is required. The problem is when attempting to install a more powerful GPU (such as the Radeon HD 6870 that I chose), you find that there are no spare molex power connectors from your power supply. Then you must upgrade the power supply in order to be able to install your new graphics card.If you want a functional PC that will play most games prior to 2009 and do not wish to upgrade any of the parts, this purchase is for you. If you are looking for a decent starter gaming PC in the hopes to eventually upgrade it, search elsewhere. On a side note, as mentioned in another review, this is NOT a newer model as... I carefully checked the first one out including reviews and details, It had, among other things, available slots. This one does NOT! If you ever expect to upgrade your computer don't buy this one. It has 2 memory slots both used. It has one PCIe slot used for the re-branded video card and one available PCI slot. That's all. It does NOT say this on this page.My last one was fried in a storm so I must keep it because of commitments but had I noticed, I would have bought the other one. It seems to run OK, but I am very disappointed in Amazon and CyberPower. |
